Tourism Manager

Job Description

  • Research, explore and study different travel destination options
  • Research destination and travel prices, customs, weather conditions, reviews etc.
  • Develop strategic policies and programs for corporate travel.
  • Handle and oversee all travel arrangements (air, lodgings etc.).
  • Determining each client's requirements needs to Suggest suitable travel Packages.
  • Manage relationships with travel agencies and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts or rates with travel service providers.
  • Provide advice on travel documents, insurance, import/export regulations etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of travel procedures.
  • Managing the entire travel program & Suggest improvement and innovation in travel programs.
  • Maintain trustworthy relationships with travel agencies and vendors
  • Develop and promote tourism in their region
  • Identify different target markets and to design appropriate packages to meet their needs.
  • Manage tourism, staff supervision and development.
  • Establishing tourism offices Internationally.

 

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tourism Manager.
  • Bachelor Degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Tourism, Business or relevant field.
  • Excellent knowledge of traveling software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travel)
  • Proficiency in English, knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
  • Proficiency, sales skills and customer oriented approach.
  • Well versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international, business/holidays, group/individual etc.).
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as database technology.
  • Proficiency in social media including Constant Contact, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills..
  • Familiarity with business travel management processes and practices.
  • Existing relationships with airlines and hotels..
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and be a team player.
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong people and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours sometimes and travel constantly.
