Jobskey Consultancy UK LTD  are actively recruiting an experienced Q A Engineer – Customer Experience on behalf of our award-winning client who is one of the UK’s top fashion and beauty destinations, expanding globally at a rapid pace.

The Role
 
Our client wants you to help own the testing for the platform you are working on. They don’t want their testing to be driven by developers, they want you to work closely with the Senior QA in the team and they want you to challenge the developers, challenge other QAs and just be a champion of good testing.
 
 
Each of the teams are working on their own API’s, that interact with other API’s which are owned by other teams within our clients company, as a QA you will be aware of what the gaps are and try to understand how we can cover them. This is all to ensure a seamless customer journey throughout the estate.
 
You are the champion of quality, you will drive the quality culture in the team, getting everyone to think of the customer focus.
 
You’ll also be part of our clients QA Community, led by their Lead QA. You’ll be invited to community events, knowledge shares and meet-ups, all to support you in your QA journey, ensuring you can be the very best version of yourself.
 
The Tech
 
  • C#
  • Azure Services, Service Fabric, ElasticSearch, Cosmos DB – They are heavy on cloud computing
  • GIT, TeamCity & Octopus – they want you to test all the way through the pipeline. You’ll be seeing lotsof TeamCity and Octopus!
  • RestSharp, NUnit – Standard test libraries, but don’t worry if you’ve not used them before
  • ReSharper – why waste time writing lines and lines of code, ReSharper is your friend!
 
What you’ll be doing
 
  • You’ll be challenging developers, you’ll be asking questions about the testing that is being performed. You’ll be offering suggestions and improvements
  • You’ll be working in an agile environment,  working closely with the developers and the Senior QA in the team, and you’ll be pairing with them, writing some automated checks together and exploring the software that is being tested
  • You will get involved with the non-functional testing, understanding how and why it’s important as well as contributing to the test framework
  • You’ll be testing API’s, you’ll be using tools to aid your testing. You’ll be firing off requests and exploring what happens under certain circumstances
  • You’ll be using automation to aid your testing, you’ll be using tools to help you test better, to help you explore the software. You’ll be raising risks and issues in an appropriate manner to the appropriate people
  • You’ll be testing the entire pipeline, you’ll suggest improvements to the build pipeline in order to allow you to test better and more efficiently
  • You’ll be testing the entire development lifecycle, from design to deployment to production. Getting involved, checking logs, checking for alerts, deploying code through the environments and being an integral team player
  • You’ll be investing in yourself, developing yourself on both a personal and professional level. They have Plural Sight and people to help make you a better tester and a more rounded individual. Your development matters as much to our client as it does to you.
