Technical Director is responsible for steering the technical vision and strategy of the organization, overseeing the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions. This role involves leading cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept through to deployment and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technical strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business objectives and vision.
- Identify emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and enhance product offerings.
- Lead a high-performing team of technical specialists, engineers, and project managers to execute the technical strategy.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the quality and reliability of technical deliverables.
- Develop and manage the technical team, including recruitment, training, and performance assessments.
- Serve as a key technical advisor to the executive leadership team, offering insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Represent the technical function in meetings with clients, partners, and industry organizations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of the technical function.
- Develop the annual engineering budget based on project needs and forecasts.
Qualification:
- Minimum of 20 years in engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Proven experience managing complex technical projects from conception to completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Computer Science, or related field); Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional engineering license (e.g., PE) and industry-recognized certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are preferred .
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
